So it is a good idea to cc him. Amit Daniel is currently working on patches to make the thermal framework less ACPI-centric. And Rob will be interested in the driver since he works at Freescale and is tasked with making sure the thermal management works on their platform. I've cc'ed them all. That said, unless Freescale is shipping ACPI on the i.MX6, this driver needs some serious work before it is ready for mainline. Some high-level comments inline. Unless you really require the ACPI abstractions (I highly doubt it), you're better off using the thermal framework directly instead of the ACPI abstraction of the thermal framework that is useful on x86 platforms.
